Whenever you post something try to remember to put your name somewhere in it... either in the title or at the end of your post so we know who wrote it.  Love you guys too.

A day with Cancer

I thought here we go again another Doctor's visit will this one be more hopeful than the last?  I had so much trepidation  on my drive over to KU Medical center's Intergative Med. I see my wonderful husband and best friend suffering and at times I feel so very helpless and alone with my secret thoughts of being alone without him here in life's journey, so I wipe away the tears some of them self pity (I am sure of) and get lost in the corridors of this massively huge hospital.  I finally find my location and immediately feel at peace with all these strangers as I see my hubby look of relief to see me.  As I watched Ron at the Doctor's office yesterday I was once again reminded how strong his spirit is, and how he truly is a soldier (a fighter). The room(s) were brightly colored soft music playing in the background, fountains trickling somewhere with the sounds of nature, but most of all the presents of HOPE.

Family Photo

I love this family photo, but we have grown quit drastically since then, we definitely need an updated photo! I love your plea to Ellen, Dad is an incredible man with an incredible story and has really demonstrated the meaning of loyalty and unconditional love to all of us kids. He was our saving grace 17 years ago. Love you all!

My Plea to Ellen

Hi Ellen,
I come from an incredible family with an incredible story. My mom was a single mom raising 4 kids. She met a man when I was 10 and married him a couple of years later.  This man took the four of us under his wing and loved us as if he were biologically his.  They had one child together and we made a family.  He is truly a man of honor, integrity and courage. He grew up in a rough home and left at an early age. He lived on the streets of New York at the age of 14. He then joined the military and became an honored man. A month ago my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His prognosis was grim. They gave him 6 months to live. My parents are fighters and are refusing to accept that outcome. They have started seeking alternative medicine. The cost of these alternative practices is a lot and insurance won't cover these methods. I am writing you today to ask for your help.  They have tried to get into the Cancer Centers of American but they cannot b/c they don't have the correct insurance nor do they have a reserve of $250,000.  So we are at a stand still as of now.  My dad has survived an abusive home, the streets of New York, combat and countless other things please help him survive this cancer. I watch your show religiously and I am a huge fan of you.  You find such joy in helping those in need.  I appreciate you and all you do for this world.  Even if you don't respond, I know that your help is going to someone who needs it.

Sincerely,
Sarah Steenblik

Our Family Blog

I thought it would be a great idea to start a family blog.  I thought it could act as a sort of a journal for each of us, especially in light of dad's diagnosis.  Please check it often and write when you feel the need.  Post pictures and let us all know how everyone is doing.  Love you all!!
